What to see in Matera I recommend this tour and olive oil tasting! It was very fascinating to see the ancient dwelling and the old process of making olive oil. They were very friendly and helpful!

Unbedingt besuchen!!! Wir sind zufällig auf dieses Museum gestoßen und wir sind begeistert. Die Tour war sehr interessant und informativ. Man merkt, dass das Museum von passionierten Leuten geführt wird. Die Verkostung war ebenfalls super. Es wird einem erklärt wie man das Öl probieren muss. Zusätzlich hat das Öl hervorragend geschmeckt. Wir empfehlen JEDEM dieses Museum zu besuchen. Ihr werdet es nicht bereuen.

Assolutamente da visitare! Visitare un antico frantoio è come fare un viaggio indietro nel tempo. In questo viaggio a ritroso siamo stati accompagnati da Severino che ci ha superbamente fatto da guida raccontandoci come questo luogo tra i sassi di Matera fosse perduto e come, con tanta passione, è stato riportato alla luce dall'oblio in cui gli uomini lo avevano relegato. La visita si è conclusa con una degustazione di un fantastico olio EVO biologico prodotto dall'azienda agricola L'Uliveto. Non poteva che essere la ciliegina sulla torta, una vera eccellenza. Severino, grazie per questo "viaggio" incredibile!!

Unique insight into ancient, industrial Matera Loved this tour and our guide was insightful and interesting. It filled another gap for us in terms of how Matera operated as a town in its heyday. The olive oil tasting was also really interesting. I would definitely recommend.

Da fare! Io e mio marito in visita per due giorni a Matera abbiamo deciso di effettuare la visita a questo antico frantoio ristrutturato splendidamente.. non ci aspettavamo di rimanere così ammirati e sorpresi! I proprietari sono gentilissimi e in maniera appassionata ci hanno accompagnati nel museo(considerate che sono stati proprio loro a scoprire il frantoio e quindi a procedere con il recupero..) spiegando e rispondendo a tutte le nostre domande (che fidatevi saranno molte, perché è tutto molto interessante !) . Alla fine della visita abbiamo degustato l'olio prodotto da loro. Esperienza davvero tipica accompagnati dal proprietario che davvero ci ha colpiti.. per prenotare basta mandare una mail, rispondono molto velocemente e sono davvero flessibili!!!!

Affascinante e interessante Un ambiente unico all'interno dei sassi di Matera. Una bellissima esperienza impreziosita dalla preparazione e dalla passione del titolare che ti trasporta in un oleificio del 1500. Il tutto condito da un assaggio finale del suo spettacolare olio. DA NON PERDERE.

Not to be missed, Moon The Moom, Matera Olive Oil Museum, is located in the Sassi of Matera, in Casalnuovo, and has been realized in an old rock press as proof of the historical features of the cave and its integration in the urban landscape. The building hosting the Moom is assumed to date back to the 15 -16 century. This is a very interesting little museum, and Educational and very worthwhile.

Da non perdere, bellissimo Recupero magistrale effettuato dal proprietario che, insieme al figlio Marco, competente agronomo, vi farà rivivere l’atmosfera dei tempi in cui questo frantoio viveva la sua storia. Particolare attenzione anche alle luci che vi porteranno in un percorso che aprirà al vostro sguardo ogni angolo in un susseguirsi di emozioni. Il proprietario e il figlio, squisite persone, vi guideranno e vi faranno apprezzare questo luogo magico.

Unique opportunity to learn about a local history corner stone This museum offers the opportunity to not only learn about how olive oil has been part of the local culture since ancient times but also see the history itself in its walls and tools. The owner is a passionate man who will devote his time to you in order to explain every single detail of the structure. While he also owns a modern oil producing facility, it is clear that he has an eye on the past, including related techniques and machineries. There will be a tasting opportunity at the end in which the visitors will be able to learn about the basic characteristics to look for in an olive oil. Definitely recommended.
